This band has been around for way too long for this to be their first LP, with EPs dating back to 20 years ago. While admittedly I'd never heard of them so I woudln't call this "long-awaited", it was certainly worth the not-wait. Very punchy, busy sound that can be just as much euro-instro or twistin'-oriented as surf but satisfyingly true to vintage sensibilities. A number of tracks feature a bit of a spaghetti-western gallop to them, though never quite slowing down to break up the momentum of the record. Everybody in the band gets a chance to shine -- while it's very much a guitar record, bass is loud and up-front and the drumming is exceptional, a noticeable feature to the sound, and it's a pretty hardened lineup of musicians with members of garage groups like The Thanes, Les Bof!, The New Picaddillys and others.
There's fifteen tracks here and every track competes sternly with the next. Don't miss this.
Available in digital, CD and vinyl formats, though it's a little pricey for us yankees with shipping.
