Despite New Orleans' historic charm and notoriety, we're simply often not a geographically ideal spot for a tour and our small size (New Orleans Metro Area sits just below 1 million) makes it a risky opportunity. That said, there's an unwritten law that says that if you name your album after a swamp, you have to tour at the swamp, so I'm glad Messer Chups complied with the law.

Another pledge drive tug-of-war. While it doesn't seem like it went back and forth, Incognito was just barely behind until the last minute. Thanks to everybody that pledged, we'll see who the banditos go up against next year.
Black means Incognito Red is Bandito.
Sincere thanks to everybody that listened to my most popular show ever. As I was saying at the end, seeing such a big number of online listeners made me feel like I was in the room with the surf/rock & roll community. It was very powerful to me, and I hope y'all caught some of that feeling as well. If you still want to donate, you can do it here.
I really really really really wish I could separate these two events, but now is the time to celebrate Dick Dale and our pledge drive can't be moved. Almost all songs will be Dick Dale or covers of Dick Dale.
My first interview with Dick Dale was back in 2012, which predates this website and I never got around to uploading it. Since Dick Dale passed away today, I did something I almost never do and allowed myself to listen to my own voice. Thankfully, that voice is a very small part of this interview, and I really enjoyed hearing this again. Dick talks about his innovations, his music, New Orleans, his animals, his ranch, his stance on drugs, Quentin Tarantino... and being a great guy you can tell he almost flips the script and tries to small talk me a few times.
