The last EP from Los Blue Marinos was back in September of 2014 and it was pretty solid. This one's been out for about two months now and there's even more to be excited about. This is still a very trad surf sound but with an even better momentum than before. The musical thoughts behind these songs are really concise and focused, helping them really stick in your head. The production is significantly different -- much brighter and punchy, with a bit of a Los Straitjackets sound to it. Better? The last EP sounded pretty good too: the reverb stands out a bit less, and the twangs don't have that deep bass floor to them, so I'd say it's a matter of taste on that count.
I think it's time to hear an LP from these guys
