This is the second longplayer from Tsunami Experiment and though it plays less long than their last one (8 tracks vs 15), I get a better sense of emotion here.

At 19 songs and just short of an hour, there's a lot to digest here. Surf Out! is a duo with some help from friends playing garagey trad surf. At times that duo-ness sounds Flat Duo Jetsy, like on "Tango Whiskey" but they'll also do these slower numbers like "Sunsets and Surfboards". I think "Mariposa" strikes a nice balance between moments of elegance and a damn-it-all grab to make some noise. "Don't Freak Out" almost has a Dinosaur Jr grungey sound to it, and "Big Surf in Winnetka" takes some surprisingly odd turns towards the end.

Per Mutations has eight members listed. I'm not sure if that's all at once but their sound is diverse enough that I might think so. Surfing in the Phenomenal World has moments of reverby surfy-ness, but less than they suggest, with flashes of shoegaze, spaghetti western, maybe even some Tom Waits... all the while sounding pretty fun and cohesive. Reminds me a bit of The Tomorrowmen's Futourism in its non-pretentious adventurousness. A pleasant surprise and over way too soon.

The Turbosonics have been around for a while now and have a number of live recordings up on their bandcamp, but I believe this is their second full LP.

Well let's be honest, the names of your songs aren't terribly important in surf music, so I can't really blame Surf Out! for their lazy naming schemes. This EP starts with a fiery one out the gate, then chills out for the rest. Some of them build to a frenzy, some of them continue to take it easy. It's a pay-what-you-want album, so give it a shot.

Though this is the first time they've hopped onto my radar, Greaser's Garage is Melvin and the Creepers' 2nd LP.  Inside you'll hear some gritty and tough instrumentals with some wild squeals and occasional fuzz. Pay as you want on bandcamp

That's no NES game cover, that's a space band. Tsunami Experiment hail from Pennsylvania playing sci-fi surf. I hear a lil' bit of piano on their song Mission to Mars, which is always nice to hear.
