A few small notes about this site and plans regarding social media

I wanted to keep y'all abreast about some changes that are so small you might not have noticed them, and give you a heads-up on some future plans.

1. I finally fixed the option to stream WTUL from this site. If you click Stream WTUL on the sidebar it should work now.

2. I created a Mastodon account and a Bluesky account. If you're on those platforms, please follow! They will likely have identical content as I'll be using an app to post to both.

3. There was a period where the Discus comment app starting spamming absolute garbage ads in articles. You've probably seen this on other sites too but didn't realize it was Discord. I believe I've blocked those ads, but if you ever do see them or any ads on this site, please let me know.

Future stuff:

I'm rethinking my social media "strategy" to only include platforms I can feel good about supporting. I've abandoned my twitter account long ago, but that will likely include Facebook and Instagram eventually. For many reasons I no longer want to be a part of them, and while it's helped a lot of people find my show, it's also *not* shown them content about my show because of algorithm nonsense.

Which is why the real goal is to move towards email-based notifcations. Good old email always shows up where you send it when you send it and doesn't ask for a dime. However, I don't have that set up right now, and in order to get it working I need to drag this site into a more modern version of Drupal. It'll be a big undertaking and who knows when I'll get around to it. And I'll keep facebook and instagram around until that happens.

Lastly this site is tracked using Google Analytics. Or maybe it isn't since I'm using old code for that. I don't really check it anymore. When I make that big site upgrade switch I'll probably be switching to a self-hosted analytics system, so the only person that seems data about your visit is me. Because I like statistics.
