KFJC release their own surf compilation called "Combo Swell" for their pledge drive

KFJC - Combo Swell

If you take a look at the "More Surf Radio" corner of the front page, you'll see the put on by Cousin Mary. She does a much better job than I do about giving something cool to her station's supporters. Combo Swell is a huge compilation of (excellent) surf groups recorded on KFJC or at KFJC events between 1996 and 2014. It's also got some killer artwork done by Fred Lammers, who's everywhere in surf rock but off the top of my head you might recognize from Frankie & the Poolboys' Adventures of Captain Coconuts (who appear on this comp!)

Here's the full lineup. Again, these aren't just CD cuts, these are recorded by KFJC!

  1. Mermen: Curve
  2. The Whys: Satsujin Taiyo
  3. Pollo Del Mar: Pose of Awareness
  4. Tomorrowmen: El Condor Pasa
  5. Frankie and the Pool Boys: Dreams
  6. The Berzerkers: Mung Taco
  7. Bradipos IV: Wray-Man
  8. Surfside IV: Meat Saw
  9. The Deadbeats: Ichabob Crane
  10. Mighty Surf Lords: Six Gun Surfer
  11. Los Venturas: Delirium
  12. El Ray: Twang Am
  13. Aloha Screwdriver: Eating, Drinking, and Killing
  14. Tequila Worms: Unsteady
  15. Three Balls of Fire: Jet Set Guitars
  16. Martin Cilia: Return of the Surf Guitar
  17. The Insect Surfers: Space Park Drive
  18. Trivalve: Buddy
  19. The Kilaueas: Universal Spy

You can get it by making a $45+ donation to KFJC . That may sound a little steep, but being in the same biz, a non-profit radio station has to sell items like this for a disproportionate amount (it's the law). So the bulk of what you're paying is to keep surf on the airwaves, you just happen to get a killer CD with it.
