The Fuzillis release GRIND A GO GO Volume 1

The Fuzillis - GRIND A GO GO Volume 1

Las Vegas Grind is a compilation series put out by Crypt records featuring bawdy instrumentals that were more about honkin sax than reverbed guitar. That series helped identify a different style of rock & roll instrumental that might have otherwise been shrugged off we came to get a little more obsessed with genres and focus on this idea of "surf music". If you need a reference point, Tequila would fit nicely into Las Vegas Grind, though I'd suggest just grabbing those compilations, they're really great.

Doyley and the Twanglords release Twang Solo

Doyley and the Twanglords - Twang Solo

Doyley and the Twanglords is an all-instro pursuit from Diablo Records owner Philip Doyle, who has played guitar for rockabilly and psychobilly bands like Guitar Slingers, Demented Are Go, and The Klingonz. Like many 'billy nuts out there, he's got a penchant for surf as well, and this is a compilation of his instrumental efforts over the last 20 years.

The Dustaphonics release 100% InstrUmental Compilation

The Dustaphonics - 100% InstrUmental Compilation

Even if most of their songs feature vocals, you can pretty reliably hear a reverbed out surf twang underneath the Dustaphonics. Well, they went ahead and made things easy for us instro nuts and slapped together a compilation of all their instro cuts. Though I'm not too well-versed in their discography, I don't believe any of these are new cuts.

Sir Bald Diddley and his Ripcurls releases two 7"s

Sir Bald Diddley and his Ripcurls - Hipsville A GoGo

I've been snatching up old Sir Bald LPs in Discogs not even realizing that he was still pumping out new stuff. Sir Bald Diddley is a favorite for trad-style surf instrumentals that still have that 60's teenage grit and with his new outfit The Ripcurls you can expect more of that great sound and attitude.

Mustard Allegro release Badgerdebon EP

Mustard Allegro - Badgerdebon EP

Though recently released, this one is actually pretty old! I'll go ahead and quote their bandcamp page here.

Here is our Incredably difficult second release which has taken nine years to actually release. We got carried away with the recording by using way to many mics on the guitar amp and way too many takes multi tracking and adding extra instruments computers were a lot slower nine years ago and we ended up with an over welming 26 Gigabytes of sound files.
