Travelers of Tyme release Chronomads

Travelers of Tyme - Chronomads

Recently I talked about how excited I was to hear a new EP from Travelers of Tyme. What I didn't realize at the time (tyme?) was that that was just a prelude to a brand new LP. True to their form, Chronomads is eclectic, mysterious and strange, with all sorts of instrumentation and sounds unique to each song.

The Okay-Men release Auf Kassette

The Okay-Men - Auf Kassette

Last time we heard from the The Okay-Men I did some sleuthwork into figuring out just who these mystery men were. Looks like this isn't a one-off side project though, we've got a full LP and in the quick sample listen I did this morning I'd say it's the best Okay/Boo-Men material yet. It's faster, harder, but it's still got plenty of that pogo pseudo-polka beat.

Coffin Haze release Rehearsal Ritual 1

Coffin Haze - Rehearsal Ritual 1

Coffin Haze refer to themselves as blackabilly deathsurf. I like it. This one's kind muddy recording-wise, I'm guessing it was live, but it's indeed dark, fast and very well played. For now it's streaming and purchaseable on bandcamp, and there's a cassette version on the way. That's about everything I can find on these guys based on their facebook page.

The Men from... BEYOND! release Deep Tide

The Men from... BEYOND! - Deep Tide

Lately I feel like I've been seeing more cassette releases than 7"s. Off the top of my head, there's these guys, Double Crown just released a comp, the Del-Vipers... OK that's all I got right now. Anyway, this one is a bit different from their last LP: I hear less MOAM? influence, and a lot of tempo changes and strange structures that make me think Shadowy Men. There's a few vocal tracks, but mostly instrumental. Also they get some props for being the only Iowa surf band I can think of. Give it a stream here or order a cassette at their bandcamp page.
