In New Orleans

New Orleans is not a place where surf the surf craze really took off. Finding material for this show isn't totally done online, but rather trawling through any pile of records I can find hoping for instrumentals. If you're hoping to dig in, I can make it easier for you. Keep in mind that this is *just* for surf instrumentals. If I were to list great record stores I would have a few more and in a different order.

Once upon a time a big hurricane made its way through New Orleans. Not that one though. This one was hurricane Isaac in 2012. A lot of us were stuck without power in the August/September heat for a week. So I had this idea of doing an acoustic show, and made the ridiculous request of local surf groups to do an acoustic set. The Bills answered that call. They went ahead and gave it a shot having no idea what it would sound like. It sounded like this.

It took a lot of work to make something this ugly and there's still a lot of stuff to work out! But it's nice to have a centralized spot for information, playlists, and links to cool surf stuff. Lemmy know what you think!
